One of the key changes in the voice UI is a new notification that prompts users to turn up their volume if it’s muted. Additionally, the previous transcribe and debug menu, where users could access and set custom instructions, is being replaced with a list of selectable personalities. Users will be able to choose from options like “unhinged,” “romantic,” “genius,” and others. There’s still uncertainty about whether these personalities will come with different voices, which would be a cool addition. However, it’s more likely that only one or two voices will be available at launch.

In the settings menu, users will have the ability to turn voice mode on and off. On a smaller note, there will likely be an option to export user data in compliance with GDPR requirements. Additionally, the image editing feature currently available on Grok for X will soon be accessible on the standalone Grok app as well.
These updates are not yet available to all users. This includes features like setting custom instructions for the regular Grok text mode and enabling spelling auto-correction. The exact release date for these changes remains unclear, but we’ll see how it develops.
