xAI is working on a new Grok feature that will allow users to easily analyze images attached to posts on the X platform. This new feature will appear as a button on all posts containing images, alongside other action buttons. When this button is pressed, the image from the post will automatically be added to the prompt context of Grok. Users can then add their own prompt before sending the image to the Grok chat.

This feature is likely to become available once Grok’s vision capabilities are released to the public. While the option to upload images has been in development for some time, it has not yet been made publicly available. The image upload function was also present in a standalone xAI Grok version for quite a while but hasn’t seen significant updates since its early iteration before the Grok 2 public release.
