World Network has launched World Chat, a new Mini App allowing users to connect and communicate with verified humans across the platform. Released in Beta on March 7, 2025, World Chat combines the Contacts tab, World ID protocol, and World App wallet to create a secure messaging environment with end-to-end encryption.
The platform visually distinguishes between verified and unverified users through a color-coded system inspired by Apple's iMessage. Conversations with verified World ID holders display blue chat bubbles with a unique World ID gem, while unverified accounts show gray bubbles without gems. This design helps users quickly identify who they're communicating with in an increasingly AI-populated digital landscape.

A standout feature is the seamless integration with the World App wallet, enabling users to send and receive cryptocurrency as easily as sharing images within a conversation. "For actions like sending funds, this is more natural and fun than entering the wallet to send transactions," notes Tiago Sada, head of products at Tools for Humanity.
World Chat demonstrates the growing Mini App ecosystem on World Network, which currently supports over 100 Mini Apps and recorded more than 250 million opens in early 2025. The platform's blockchain maintains the highest UOPS/TPS ratio among Ethereum blockchains, indicating predominant usage by humans rather than automated systems.
To foster development, World has partnered with:
- FWB (a culture DAO)
- Alchemy
- Bain Crypto Capital
- Blockchain Capital
- Variant Fund
These partnerships have launched World Build, an incubator program running until May 2025. This initiative has already attracted over 150 builders, with twelve teams selected for a development retreat in Buenos Aires.
World Chat will be available to both Android and iOS users, marking Sam Altman's blockchain project's official entry into the messaging sector as it continues to build tools that differentiate human and automated interactions online.
