Workspace folders coming to Grok as xAI builds better tools

xAI continues to improve its Grok website and application. One of the most notable recent updates is the introduction of a feature called workspaces. This will allow users to create a certain number of dedicated workspaces, each with its own custom instructions and the option to attach files. All chats created within a specific workspace are grouped into that folder, making it easier to manage conversations. It will offer users a more organized experience and enable better use of custom instructions.

The Workspace feature is still in development and not available to the public yet. The feature is similar to the Projects concept seen in other AI apps and is expected to be fully rolled out soon.

In addition to the website updates, xAI is also making progress on the mobile front. They are currently working on implementing DeeperSearch functionality for the iOS app. This feature has already been introduced on the web and on X, and it’s likely to become available on mobile devices in the near future.

Another significant development is the recent activation of web access in Grok’s voice mode. Users can now see a small blue lightning icon next to the assistant preset, indicating this capability. When asked, Grok can fetch the latest information from X, search through posts, and integrate that context into the conversation. This is a major step forward, as it allows Grok to provide real-time, up-to-date information, including the latest news, thanks to X’s strong coverage.
