Mistral AI continues to improve its user interface with several notable updates. Recently, the profile section was moved to the top of the navigation bar, accompanied by a new chat button positioned just below it. Additionally, when using tools like image generation or search, the system now displays the time taken to process each request.

On the development front, some hidden features are starting to surface. One significant addition in progress appears to be the upcoming PRO plan. Currently, the FREE plan stands out as one of the best available options, offering access to search and image generation with Flux PRO included. However, in the future, the FREE plan may face limitations while the PRO plan is expected to provide extended benefits.

A new widget is also under development to display usage limits for features such as sent messages, generated images, and web searches. Preliminary information suggests these limits will be:

  1. 10 web searches
  2. 5 generated images
  3. 100 messages

It remains unclear how frequently these limits will reset. If the reset period is short, the current FREE plan might remain largely unaffected. Meanwhile, the introduction of the PRO plan, though still hidden, is likely to offer a subscription option for users seeking extended limits.

Additional enhancements include a new “Agents” button, which will act as a shortcut to highlight the number of Agents users have created on the platform. Another new feature, the “More” button in the Prompt Bar, will potentially unlock further integrations. Early signs point to an integration with Notion, possibly in alpha testing, and more data sources for search, such as a fact-checking platform. However, the exact functionality of these features is still uncertain.

Canvas editing is also set to receive an upgrade. Users will soon be able to highlight code snippets and ask Le Chat to refactor them, introducing a programming-specific shortcut alongside existing editing tools.

The timeline for these updates remains unclear. Users are optimistic that the introduction of the Mistral PRO plan won’t significantly impact the free tier. Time will tell how these changes unfold.
