Perplexity is working on several new assistants, each focused on a specific purpose. During reverse engineering, some new assistants in development were identified. One of them, called Finance, appears to curate data directly from Tako, a financial data provider used by Perplexity. While the specific use cases for the Finance assistant are not yet clear, it likely aims to offer more flexibility for users wanting to pull financial data into their threads.
Additionally, there are placeholders for focus modes named My Files and Team Files. These modes suggest that users will soon be able to query data from all files uploaded to Perplexity across different threads, not just the current thread. This feature might also be available to enterprise customers, allowing them to upload documents and make them accessible within their organization.
For personal plans, there is a placeholder indicating a similar feature. However, it remains unclear whether these files will reside in a separate section of the library or be part of specific collections. This approach is similar to the one used in projects on Claude by Anthropic and appears to offer comparable functionality. Currently, none of these features are available to end-users as they are still hidden behind feature flags.
