OpenAI seems to be developing a new homepage for ChatGPT. They are currently setting up an A-B test that moves the prompt bar to the center of the page and removes the conversation starters. Alongside these visual changes, they are also working on implementing an autocomplete feature, which will leverage LLM generation. However, this feature isn’t accessible yet.
Interestingly, even though the main change is the repositioning of the text bar, it appears that OpenAI is trying to unify the interface with another prototype they are working on called SearchGPT. In SearchGPT, the prompt bar is located in the middle of the screen by default. OpenAI has also mentioned plans to integrate this prototype with their main product, ChatGPT.
