OpenAI is developing a new feature for Sora that enables users to search across videos and images. This functionality resembles ChatGPT’s search, allowing users to navigate their past conversations through locally indexed data. Despite the similar user interfaces, the underlying implementations may differ.

Sora

This feature allows users to search in two areas: the Media Library, which includes user-generated video creations, and the Explore section, featuring videos published by others. While the capability to search for both images and videos is planned, the image generation feature is still under development.

The top feed, previously discovered, now appears to be functional. Although not yet publicly available, it displays videos that can be filtered by day, week, month, year, or all time, based on user likes.

Sora

Sora is OpenAI’s video generation model, designed to create realistic videos from text prompts. Released in December 2024, Sora allows users to generate videos up to 1080p resolution and 20 seconds in length. It offers features like Remix, Loop, and Blend, enabling users to edit and combine videos seamlessly. Sora is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers, with varying levels of access based on the subscription plan.
