OpenAI is preparing its ChatGPT iOS app for the upcoming voice model release

In the recent iOS update, the app now includes a new setting to turn off background conversations. Previously, voice conversations would continue even if the ChatGPT app was minimized. This new option aims to improve the conversational experience, particularly with the planned release of new voice and vision capabilities.

Other changes include:

• The transition between voice and vision modes now works smoothly.
• One of the buttons now displays a desktop icon, suggesting that the same code might be used for the desktop app.

Disclaimer: This UI was already available before the OpenAI event and is still hidden from the public.
