Mistral AI has introduced a new feature called Libraries, which enables users to create a library containing a specific set of files. At present, only PDF files are supported.

It seems that Mistral AI is utilizing its recently released OCR model to interact with the content of these libraries. There are also hints that support for additional file types, such as images or code files, might be added in the future.

Users can already upload and label files, although these files will only be processed once the feature is fully released. Additionally, there is a disabled button labeled “Index Website,” suggesting that Mistral AI may introduce functionality similar to NotebookLM, where users can add websites and have their content indexed as sources.

Another notable aspect is that these libraries can be shared with other users. This opens up interesting use cases, particularly when libraries become accessible to Agents—another feature currently in development by Mistral AI as part of their revamp of a solution similar to custom GPTs.

Finally, the Libraries feature includes a toggle in the Prompt Composer, allowing users to select one of their created libraries to use in their prompts!
