Meta’s Muse agent is getting huge exposure. According to Apptopia estimates, Muse recorded more mobile downloads and daily active users in the US and Canada during its first 12 days than ChatGPT did over the same period following its mobile debut. The comparison is limited to those markets and launch windows, but it shows how quickly Meta’s new agent is gaining traction.
The momentum is understandable given how polished Muse already feels. Meta is also preparing more functionality, including voice mode, custom voices, Muse Mail and Shared Agents. However, the previously visible Shared Agents section has recently disappeared or become further restricted.
TestingCatalog has now found another piece of Meta’s roadmap: Muse is being prepared to work through additional messaging platforms beyond WhatsApp. The current interface points to Messenger and Telegram, while traces suggest that more services could eventually follow. Meta has already designed an interface to connect and manage these messaging channels.
The first use case could simply involve accessing the same Muse agent from different messengers, similar to the existing WhatsApp integration. However, platforms such as Telegram and Messenger also provide infrastructure for bots and business communication, opening a much broader direction. Muse could eventually operate through business accounts, handle incoming customer requests, or act through dedicated agents configured for specific tasks. Deeper permissions, such as participating in group management, remain uncertain at this stage.
This direction fits Meta’s wider strategy for Muse. The company positions it as a personal agent that can work across apps through Connectors, while its existing WhatsApp support already shows that Muse does not need to live inside a dedicated app. Messaging connectors could extend that model to places where users and businesses already communicate.
With Meta Connect scheduled for September 23-24, these integrations could be among the features that surface during the event, although no release timing has been confirmed.
