Meta is working on a new avatar-sharing feature for its Muse agent on the web. The upcoming functionality will add a Share option alongside the existing avatar-editing controls. Selecting it opens a pop-up showcasing the animated avatar, with options to share it across social platforms or copy an automatically generated link. Users can also preview their avatars in four states, including a working mode.
Avatar sharing on Muse
The sharing interface has surfaced in Muse’s web implementation, but it is not publicly available yet. It could eventually lead to community-built avatar galleries or even dedicated avatar stores where users discover others' creations. Something similar happened with Codex Pets, although those are primarily cosmetic. Muse takes a different approach by making the avatar central to the agent’s identity.
Meta has invested heavily in its avatar technology, including the ability to generate and animate custom characters. At Meta Connect, the company also introduced Muse Realtime Avatar, designed to bring these characters into live conversations. However, that functionality still appears to be under development on the web.
One remaining question is whether Muse will eventually support saving multiple avatars and switching between them. So far, only sharing has surfaced, and it remains unclear whether users can switch between imported avatars within the same interface. Support for sharing entire agents, which Meta previously appeared to be exploring, is also uncertain.

Avatar sharing could give Muse a new way to spread organically across social platforms, particularly if users begin sharing their custom characters. Meanwhile, Meta continues expanding its personal agent beyond its initial markets, with Muse recently becoming available in Japan. Other anticipated features, including Muse Mail, are still awaiting broader availability. No confirmed release date exists for avatar sharing.
