Meta AI appears to be releasing its Llama-3 model, boasting 405 billion parameters, to select users in preview mode. Reports indicate that users are seeing a preview widget which has been appearing on the Meta AI portal, allowing them to explore the new Llama model upon clicking it.

Interestingly, the model itself was leaked yesterday on HuginFace, with weights that require 800 gigabytes of local storage for those who wish to run it locally. An official announcement is expected today, likely to coincide with the introduction of Meta Premium, which will feature the Llama 405 billion model as an exclusive offering for premium users. Additionally, an AI studio announcement from Meta is also anticipated. However, this new product is currently not available in the EU, and it remains uncertain whether it can be accessed using a VPN. As of now, Meta has not confirmed any plans for a broader expansion.

Currently, you need a non-EU Meta account to be able to use it even under a US VPN.
