Maket has launched Move Rooms, a floor plan feature that lets users drag an entire room to a new position while the software reshapes the walls, doors, and circulation around it.

The feature targets residential floor plans already open in the Maket canvas. Users can try a different layout on a plan in progress, or drag one room onto another to swap them. Surrounding rooms compress to make space. Exterior walls stay intact, and windows and ensuite access move with the room.

Move Rooms also works on plans uploaded to Maket as a PDF or image. A bedroom with a built-in closet or ensuite bathroom moves as one unit, so built-ins stay attached to the parent room. Once a new arrangement is set, users can open it in 3D in the same workspace. Layout changes do not rewrite finishes such as flooring or wall style.
