Perplexity has announced two new features: Internal Knowledge Search and Perplexity Spaces, aimed at enhancing research capabilities for users.

Internal Knowledge Search allows users of Perplexity Pro and Enterprise Pro to search both public web content and internal knowledge bases simultaneously. This feature is designed to streamline access to information, enabling users to synthesize data from multiple sources efficiently. It has been made available to select Enterprise Pro customers, including notable companies like NVIDIA and Dell, who use it for tasks such as due diligence and RFP processes. This integration of internal and external search capabilities aims to boost productivity by consolidating research efforts into a single platform.

Perplexity Spaces serves as an AI-powered collaboration hub where teams can organize and conduct research. Users can customize their Spaces by inviting collaborators, connecting internal files, and setting specific instructions for the AI assistant. This feature emphasizes security, offering full access controls and ensuring that files remain private. Enterprise Pro customers benefit from additional privacy measures, with files excluded from AI training by default. Future updates will include third-party data integrations with services like Crunchbase and FactSet, further expanding research capabilities.

These features underscore Perplexity's commitment to providing a comprehensive knowledge platform that caters to diverse user needs, from financial services to HR teams. The announcement reflects a strategic move to enhance user experience by integrating more flexible and secure research tools.
