Grok on X received several updates this week, continuing its gradual transformation into a more mature product. Some of these updates are already available to the public, while others remain in internal testing.
One big improvement relates to Grok’s web search functionality, which now includes the ability to display images directly in search results alongside textual responses. Additionally, citations have been expanded to include X posts, whereas previously, they were limited to web results. If you explore the “related posts” section, you’ll notice that it now displays all media content, not just text, making it more visually comprehensive.
Another enhancement focuses on conversation sharing. Grok now allows users to share complete conversations rather than being restricted to sharing single responses. A new copy button has also been added to the top-right corner of shared conversations, enabling users to duplicate and continue discussions within Grok seamlessly.
Updates to Grok’s image generation feature make it even more engaging. Users can now access infinite follow-up suggestions for generated images, allowing for continuous exploration by simply clicking on prompts. This creates an addictive flow where users can keep generating and discovering new visuals effortlessly.
In internal testing, Grok is preparing to support PDF uploads, complementing its current ability to handle images. Although the user interface now displays PDFs when attached to the prompt bar, the model doesn’t yet process them effectively. This feature will likely require a model update before it becomes fully functional.
Finally, xAI has introduced swipe gestures, which can be enabled and customized in settings. These gestures make navigating the home feed more intuitive, allowing users to perform actions like liking or replying with a simple swipe. This addition enhances the overall browsing experience, making it smoother and more efficient.
