ChatGPT recently introduced an auto mode available to all users on various devices. This new mode appears as an additional option in the model selector. When chosen, it automatically selects the most suitable model based on the complexity of the user’s prompt. For complex prompts, it opts for the most advanced model, while for simpler ones, it uses a faster model to save time.
Many users have provided feedback that, in most cases, they prefer to interact with the most advanced model. However, having the option to optimize for speed in certain scenarios is seen as a valuable feature.
Pretty sure I would always want to optimize for intelligence, never speed, unless I’m in voice mode

Also, keep in mind that the latest o1 model by ChatGPT does not have access to tools but offers advanced reasoning capabilities.
