End of July is almost here, and everyone is eagerly awaiting the release of Advanced Voice Mode from OpenAI. The recent iOS update included minor UI tweaks. Currently, when users open Voice Mode and tap on the information icon, they see a message indicating that OpenAI needs a bit more time to prepare the Advanced Voice Mode. However, there is a new version of this message, still hidden, which says that the Advanced Voice Mode Alpha has started rolling out gradually to Alpha users and is expected to be available to all Plus subscribers by the end of Fall.

This suggests that the release is likely to start next week, especially since this update was pushed on Saturday. It is also probable that the first users will be in the US region. However, the specifics of the gradual rollout in terms of regional availability remain unclear. Many users have pointed out that the end of Fall means the end of November, implying that it will be more than six months since the initial announcement by the time most users get access.

In addition to the new message, the Advanced Voice Mode UI has been slightly updated. The menu now includes options such as: Taking a picture, Uploading an image and Screen sharing.

Previously, it only had image upload. The camera mode has also started working properly. Despite these updates, all features are still hidden behind a feature flag, and there is a possibility that initial rollouts for Alpha users will happen with the old UI. We’ll have to see what happens next week.
