Google Gemini 2.0 sparks new rumors of December release

Rumors about Gemini 2.0 have been circulating on X, accompanied by screenshots from a Google employee who suggested that the model might be released during the second week of December. The post was later removed from X and edited on LinkedIn, leaving it unclear whether this was a mistake or an accidental leak.

It is known, however, that Gemini 2.0 has already been made available to certain enterprise customers. Additionally, evidence on the Gemini website showed the model appearing in the selector under a hidden feature flag. These mentions were quickly removed from the website as well.

Overall, it’s evident that Google is actively preparing something significant, and we’re likely to hear more throughout December. Still, the exact release date of the model remains uncertain. Interestingly, the name of the model spotted in Gemini included a version date of November 1st, though a different version may be announced at the time of release.
