Gemini users recently received an email update announcing positive changes for free users. Starting in November, Google will allow all Gemini users to upload and analyze files, though with some limitations.

Free users will have a smaller 32,000-token context window, which equates to about 50 pages of text, affecting daily usage limits. Currently, this feature is only available to Gemini advanced users, but free users will soon benefit as well.

Another significant update is that Gemini Live has gained access to search capabilities. Previously, this feature wasn’t available when Gemini Live launched. With internet access, Gemini Live can now provide more up-to-date and relevant information, making it far more useful than before.
