Google continues developing its Creative Partner Solution, allowing users to edit images directly within the Gemini UI. While this feature has been previously discovered, it now shows notable progress. Now it is possible to open images in edit mode, signalling the next stage of development.

Within the opened Canvas interface, users will have access to four distinct tools:

  1. They will be able to resize images and potentially expand the area around them.
  2. Another option enables selecting specific areas for editing using prompts.
  3. Additionally, users will be able to manually define areas to modify by drawing with a brush.
  4. The fourth tool, Animate, appears to be a one-click feature to animate images, resembling the functionality seen on Meta.ai.

There is speculation that this solution may launch alongside the multi-modal Gemini feature, previously teased for AI Studio. However, it would likely make strategic sense for Google to also roll out this functionality on Gemini for the web, integrated into the Creative Partner tool.
