Google Cloud is bringing OpenAI's newest models to its Model Garden, making it the only hyperscale cloud provider to offer all three leading closed-source LLMs alongside more than 200 first-party, third-party, and open models. The move gives enterprise teams a single Google Cloud platform for choosing models according to capability, latency, and cost without separate vendor contracts or rebuilding their architecture.
The initial lineup covers three tiers. GPT-6 Astra targets demanding coding, computer-use, professional, and scientific research tasks. GPT-6.1 Sol is positioned near Astra in intelligence at a lower cost for agentic coding, computer use, and professional work, while GPT-6 Luna is designed for fast, cost-efficient everyday workloads at scale. Customers can select or swap models for each use case through Model Garden.

OpenAI usage will be purchased directly through Google Cloud Marketplace. Charges will appear on the same Google Cloud invoice, apply toward existing cloud commitments, and count toward Flexible Savings Plans across model providers. This packaging is aimed at organizations that want broader model choice while keeping procurement and cost controls inside their current cloud relationship.
Google is pairing that access with its enterprise governance layer. Prompts, context, and outputs remain inside the customer's designated data perimeter and are not used to train foundation models. Zero Data Retention options are coming soon. OpenAI models run on dedicated Google Cloud infrastructure through isolated gateways, with Confidential Compute also planned. Authenticated identities, VPC Service Controls, unified audit logs, and administrator visibility apply across model and agent activity. Google says third-party model providers do not receive unauthorized access to customers' cloud environments.
GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna are rolling out now in private preview for select enterprise customers. Participants can begin using the models through APIs and connect local Codex CLI and Desktop workflows to Google's Gemini platform for inference. Access is available through an interest form, with more customers expected later. Google also plans to bring OpenAI models to Gemini for business and Google Antigravity. Box said the arrangement would let it pair OpenAI's frontier models with Google Cloud's security and compliance controls for enterprise content.
