The latest update for Gemini on iOS brought several notable changes, as outlined in the official App Store changelog.
First and foremost, the update introduces a model selector, allowing users to choose between different Gemini versions. This is the first time Gemini Flash 2.0 has become available on mobile. While the Gemini 2.0 Experimental Advanced model isn’t included in the list yet, it could potentially be added in the future.
In addition to this, there are mentions of new features such as expanded language support and new extensions like Google Home and Google Photos. However, these features are not yet available to all users, and it appears they are being rolled out gradually. Some users, for example, have reported having access to the Google Home extension already.
There are also some potential future updates on the horizon. The reasoning mode is not yet available, but it would be a valuable addition in the future.
On another note, Gemini Code Folder Upload has been rolled out to all users!
You can now upload your code repository directly from your device into Gemini Advanced to streamline your workflows.

Additionally, users can expect Gemini Live to be available potentially by early 2025. It should already be accessible to selected trusted testers, at least on Android. However, it’s still unclear whether it will be available on iOS 2.0 right away. Let’s see how things develop for Gemini!
