Google’s new feature, codenamed “Recall,” enables Gemini to reference past conversations and access information from them. For instance, you can ask Gemini to summarize your previous chats. After summarizing, Gemini can also provide links to your past conversations, displayed under the response, allowing users to click and open them in a new tab. This facilitates easy navigation through your chat history by simply asking Gemini, eliminating the need for manual searches. A similar feature is under development for ChatGPT, though it hasn’t been released yet. Following Google’s announcement, it appears that ChatGPT is preparing to launch a comparable feature, with new announcements indicating a potential release next year.

On Gemini, this feature is particularly useful as it allows the assistant to refer to a broader RAG scope.

In an unrelated update, Google recently informed advanced subscribers via email about upcoming enhancements to Gemini Live. The email stated that an updated version of Gemini Live will soon roll out, featuring a new model designed to make conversations more natural, akin to the advanced mode on ChatGPT. Additionally, plans are underway to introduce vision capabilities, such as camera access and screen sharing. This feature was initially promised for release in 2025, as part of Project Astra updates. However, there have been no reports indicating that the rollout has begun, so users are eagerly awaiting its arrival.

Gemini is Google’s advanced AI assistant, designed to help with writing, planning, learning, and more. It offers a conversational experience, allowing users to engage in natural, free-flowing dialogues. With features like Gemini Live, users can have real-time interactions, making it a versatile tool for various tasks.

Gemini Live enhances the user experience by enabling natural, free-flowing conversations in up to two languages. Users can interrupt or add to the conversation, similar to human interactions, making it a dynamic and engaging assistant. Future updates aim to introduce features like screen sharing and live video support, further expanding its capabilities.
