Anthropic seems to be preparing its reasoning model launch for Claude. Recently, there have been multiple additions in the codebase mentioning Paprika Mode, which is suspected to be related to enhanced reasoning capabilities. Other traces in the code suggest improvements to the thinking process, along with references to specific strings that could introduce these capabilities to users. However, as of now, this feature does not appear to be functional.

At the same time, rumors about an upcoming model launch from Anthropic are circulating, with speculation pointing toward Claude Opus 3.5 or possibly an even more advanced release. Based on earlier reports, something significant is expected within the next two weeks, potentially aligning with the anticipated launch of Grok 3 next week.
Another key event to watch is Amazon’s product presentation on February 26, where a rumored Anthropic-Amazon Alexa integration might be unveiled. This raises the possibility that Anthropic could choose to time their own announcements around this event or even collaborate with Amazon’s presentation, which would be a strategic win for them.

Beyond model updates, Anthropic is also preparing to release enhanced search for Google Drive. In addition to a previously spotted announcement, they are now adding a new toggle in settings that allows users to enable or disable Google Drive integration. This feature would allow Claude to store Google Drive data to improve search quality, but due to privacy concerns, users will have the option to turn it off.

Finally, Anthropic is testing a new scrolling behavior internally. When enabled, messages will scroll before Claude’s response starts streaming, providing a more comfortable reading experience. This change may be related to the upcoming reasoning capabilities, as longer responses could benefit from improved readability.
Let’s see what unfolds in the coming weeks 👀
