Character AI is continuously enhancing its Stories feature, which now appears to be in an internal beta phase. As described within the feature, the Story drop-down now shows up in the Create menu. When selected, users can choose a genre for their Story, with current options like Sci-Fi, Mystery, Horror, and more. This genre selection influences the type of image generated for the Story, with one image now representing the entire narrative.

The creation process follows a familiar setup: users select one or more characters, input a prompt, and scroll through auto-generated Stories. However, a notable new feature allows users to influence the Story’s direction. Character AI generates two follow-up options, letting users choose which path the Story will take. At the end, users can revisit the Story and even explore alternate endings if they wish.
