Character AI is developing a new feature that will let users customize their character chats in more creative ways. Currently being tested on mobile, this feature is accessible through the character menu, where users will find a new “Customize Chat” option. Here, users can enter a prompt, and the AI will generate four unique wallpapers based on it. From these options, users can choose one to set as the chat background. This feature is still in internal testing and not available to the public yet.
The addition of custom wallpapers aligns well with the previously mentioned “Stories” feature, which is focused on enhancing storytelling experiences within Character AI. By letting users set unique wallpapers, Character AI aims to help users create specific, immersive atmospheres for their conversations, making each character chat feel more personal and thematic.
