Anthropic has begun testing a new voice mode in its Claude App for iOS. While the feature appears to be in early development, there are already several interesting details available.
To start, the voice mode will only be available in English and will come with three voice options: Mellow, Airy, and Buttery.
The voice interface includes a plus (+) button, which opens a file upload menu with three choices: camera, gallery, or files. Users will likely be able to upload multiple files, and these files will be visible directly within the voice screen. This strongly suggests that you’ll be able to have conversations with Claude about uploaded documents and images, including photos.

Despite its minimalist design, this feature is very promising and represents a major upgrade for the Claude App.
Additional Features in Development
Alongside the voice mode, Anthropic is also working on other additions. Previously spotted tools like Gmail search and Calendar search have now been added to the list of beta-labeled features, joining the Drive search that appeared in the last release.
Although these tools are still hidden on both the mobile app and the web version, it’s clear that Anthropic is preparing them for public launch. It looks like Gmail and Calendar integrations will eventually be available to all users — a welcome enhancement.
UI Improvements
The text composer on the mobile app has also received a slight update. The reasoning function is now a separate button, aligning with recent changes made to the web version’s interface.
Overall, this upcoming set of features — especially the voice mode — is an exciting step forward for the Claude App. Hopefully, we’ll see them roll out to users soon.
